Today, it has become essential to save water. There are various simple actions that reduce significantly our daily consumption of water . Some of these gestures don't cost anything, others require a few minutes of tinkering, there are reflexes to adopt, and for those who can afford it, small investment to make. These investments are generally profitable within the year of investment.
In all cases, today if we want to save water, we can! Today if we do not want to change our standard of living but still want to save water, we can! It is (almost) always possible to further optimize our water consumption.
Here is a non-exhaustive list to learn how to save water every day when we live in an environment with running water:

1. Toilets
Toilets are responsible for nearly one third of the households water consumption but there are two solutions to significantly reduce it. The first solution doesn't cost anything: it consist in filling a bottle with gravel and water and to put it in the toilet tank. Water Saved: 1.5L.
The second solution requires an investment and consist in installing a “dual flush”. Water Saved: up to 7L.

2. Brushing teeth
Not letting the water runs while brushing teeth allows to save up to 12L per washing.

3. The shower
To take showers instead of baths enables to save between 50L and 200L ! For those who would make a small investment, installing an economic shower head instead of a classic one allows you to reduce the water consumption by 25%, while maintaining the same comfort. It saved up to 15L .

4. The kitchen
The dishwasher is a comfortable machine for those who have one, however it is used too often without being full. By running it only once full enables to save in average nearly 30L , in addition to this, the use in "eco mode" if available saves an additional 25L . The same goes for the washing machine. Finally, avoiding prewash, reduces the consumption of water by 15L.
